A Small Church With a Rich History

Nestled in the Crooked Creek valley in rural Marion County, Arkansas, the Cedar Grove United Methodist Church has for over 150 years been the spiritual center of our community.

A relatively small congregation, our people know one another well, and everyone has a chance to use his or her spiritual gifts toward the advancement of Christ's mission on earth.

And have fun doing it.

What Do We Believe?

Simply put, we are Methodists.

  • We recite the Apostle's Creed;
  • We adhere to the Articles of Religion of the Methodist Church.
  • We welcome at Communion all people who love the Lord.
  • We believe we, as Christians, must not only profess our beliefs but also live them as examples to the world.

Our Pastor

Pastor Don Cremer has studied and been a Christian for many years. He also is onstaff at Ron Hutchcraft Ministries, where he has additional opportunities to serve the Lord. He and his wife, Judy, set the tone at Cedar Grove: mutual love and respect for one another, leading by example, and above all, loving the Lord and His ways.

When and Where Do We Meet?

When? We meet several times each week:

  • Worship: Sundays 9 a.m.
  • Bible Study: Wednesdays 6:30 p.m.
  • Quilting and Pot-Luck: Wednesdays 8:30 til 2-ish

Where? We are located 5 miles west of Yellville, or 6 miles east of Pyatt, right on U.S. Highway 412. Just look for a church nestled into the green cedar trees of a hillside. You can't miss us.

Having Fun Together

We love to celebrate. Birthdays, pot-lucks, holidays are great excuses to come together to visit, laugh and share. We also enjoy working together--such as when we meet weekly to quilt for the benefit of worthy causes.

Studying Together

We and Pleasant Ridge UMC meet Wednesdays at 6:30 pm for an in-depth Bible study session. Since it's a partnership, we alternate locations between Cedar Grove and Pleasant Ridge. The study group has been focusing upon the New Testament, one book at a time, using a structured curriculum.
